I often have a pack in the freezer prepared for these occasions. It is a quick and easy dinner that does not require many hands, it is healthy and filling.
Since I live alone, I cook a small burger or make about 4 at a time so that all I have to do later in the week is quickly reheat it.
Most people will be making dinner or batch cooking for something other than themselves, so I’ve included instructions on how to cook different amounts of turkey burgers at once.
So how do you cook frozen turkey burgers in the oven? First, choose a temperature between 375-400°F, then line a baking sheet with parchment paper and cooking oil, season your burgers with salt and pepper, leave some space between them, and bake for 16-20 minutes. .

How to Cook Frozen Turkey Burgers in the Oven at 375°F
One of the keys to evenly cooking turkey burgers is making sure you leave enough space between each burger for air to circulate. This gap will allow the burgers to cook evenly and the edges to crisp up.
Another problem is that if they’re too close together in the pan, they can end up steaming instead of crisping, so they can end up with a less delicious, rubbery texture.
It’s pretty easy to space them out though, just leave about 2.5cm between each patty.
The number of burgers per baking tray depends on the size of the tray. If you’re using a smaller baking sheet, you’ll probably only want to put 4-6 turkey patties on it.
The larger pans can hold up to 10-12 turkey patties with space between them.
Generally, the more burgers per tray, the longer they will take to cook.
Follow these steps to cook your frozen turkey burgers in the oven like a pro:
- To make it easier for you to separate the turkey patties, try to remember to take them out of the freezer about 15-20 minutes before you plan to cook them.
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Spray the parchment paper with cooking oil, or you can brush a half tablespoon of oil over the parchment with your fingers.
- Separate the turkey patties and remove the paper between them.
- Drizzle a little cooking oil on both sides of the turkey patty, then sprinkle a good amount of salt and pepper on each side for seasoning.
- Arrange the turkey patties on the baking sheet, making sure to leave at least 1 inch of space between each patty so they cook evenly.
- Put the turkey burgers in the oven for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, take the turkey burgers out of the oven, flip them over, and put them back in the oven. You may want to rotate the baking sheet if your oven does not have an even temperature across the back and front.
- If you are cooking 4-6 burgers, return them to the oven for another 10 minutes or until the internal temperature is 165°F. If you are cooking 10-12 burgers, cook for another 12 minutes or until internal temperature is 165°F.
- Once fully cooked, remove the burgers from the oven. Let them sit for a couple of minutes so the juices settle.
- Place them on your bun and top with your favorite toppings.
- Enjoy!
How to Cook Frozen Turkey Burgers in the Oven at 400°F
If you want to cook your turkey burgers a little faster, you can turn the heat up to 400°F. This should not dry out your turkey patties and you should get a nice golden crust on the outside of your turkey patties.
When cooking turkey burgers, you’ll want to make sure there’s enough space between each burger for air to circulate and the burgers to cook evenly. I like to leave about an inch of space between the patties.
The more turkey burgers you have on the baking sheet, the longer they will take to cook. Below I will indicate the different cooking times for the different amounts of burgers.
If you’re using a smaller baking sheet, you don’t want to put more than 4-6 burgers on it to give yourself that space for even cooking. If you have a large tray, you can put up to 10-12 burgers.
Follow these steps to properly cook your frozen turkey burgers in the oven:
- Take the turkey burgers out of the freezer about 15-20 minutes before you want to cook them. Although not completely necessary, this step will make it easier to separate them.
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray or brush with your fingers.
- Separate the turkey patties and remove the paper between them. Sprinkle each side generously with salt and pepper.
- Arrange the turkey patties on the baking sheet, leaving at least 1 inch of space between each patty to allow air to circulate and cook evenly.
- If you have a small cookie sheet, don’t put more than 4-6 burgers on it. Large baking sheets can hold up to 10-12 burgers.
- Once the oven is heated, introduce the turkey burgers and bake them for 10 minutes.
- Take the burgers out of the oven, flip them over and put them back in the oven. You may want to rotate the pan if you know your oven doesn’t have an even temperature front and back.
- If you have 4-6 burgers, you will need to cook them for another 6 minutes or until the internal temperature is 165°F. If you have 10-12 turkey burgers, you will need to cook them for another 8 minutes or until the internal temperature is 165°F.
- Once the turkey burgers are fully cooked, remove them from the oven and let them rest for 2 minutes.
